Meet Dawn
As the East Midlands Support Group regional coordinator for Annabelle’s Challenge, I am passionate about supporting families affected by vascular EDS.
My connection to the condition is deeply personal. I supported my late husband and daughter as they lived with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, navigating the challenges, uncertainties, and realities that come with this rare genetic condition.
Through my own family’s journey, I have gained first-hand understanding of the emotional, practical, and medical complexities that vEDS can bring.
This experience has shaped my commitment to ensuring that no family feels alone. I understand the importance of clear information, compassionate support, and a community that truly “gets it.”
In my role with Annabelle’s Challenge, I look forward to connecting with and supporting other families across the East Midlands. My aim is to create a welcoming, understanding space where individuals and families living with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome can share experiences, access support, and build meaningful connections together.

VEDS Support Groups
A safe and supportive space
Our support groups offer a safe, confidential and relaxed environment for anyone affected by vascular EDS. This includes parents, carers, partners, friends and children.
Led by people who understand
Each support group is facilitated by one of our dedicated volunteer regional coordinators. All of them have lived experience of vascular EDS, either personally or in a caring role, so they truly understand the challenges and emotions that can come with living with this diagnosis.
