Welcome to the Wales VEDS Support Group. This group and our meetings are led by volunteer regional coordinator Lynda.
Hi, my name is Lynda and I live in South Wales in Barry in the Vale of Glamorgan.
I'm married and a mum to 4 children and a nanny to 2 grandsons. I also have legal guardianship of my niece and 2 nephews. I work part time and I also own my own sweet buisness... Busy busy household!!
I first came across Vascular Ehlers Danlos syndrome when my sister sadly passed away just 6 days after her youngest son was born, in March 2013 to later find out that my sister had this condition which we didn't know about. A year later we found out that Charlie and his older brother Brandon also had Vascular Ehlers Danlos syndrome, we had never heard of this condition.
That's when my research into vEDS began and that's also when I found Annabelle's Challenge. I've learnt a lot from Jared and the team and I am looking forward to meeting new people and to share my story of how vEDS has impacted mine and my family's life.
Our regional face-to-face support groups are safe, confidential, relaxed meetings with lunch included!
Facilitated by our wonderful volunteer regional coordinators, all of whom have lived experience with vascular EDS either personally or in a caring role.
They offer a welcoming environment for you to meet others who are touched by vascular EDS. They provide a helpful way to share information, listen to each other’s experiences and together find ways of navigating the complexities of living with or caring for someone with vascular EDS.
Our support groups can help you build self-confidence, become more informed and this may lead to you becoming more in control of your life with vascular EDS. They help you feel you are not so alone including your loved ones.
