Welcome to the West Midlands VEDS Support Group. This group and our meetings are led by Lynette, Marie & Kerri.
Lynette has worked in financial services since 1995 and currently works for a financial planning company. In her spare time, she enjoys the performing arts, especially theatre and live music.
In 2024, Lynette’s husband and two children were diagnosed with vEDS.
She is honoured to now be part of the Annabelle’s Challenge team and is looking forward to connecting with and supporting others in the vEDS community, particularly in her local area in the West Midlands (South).
Marie has dedicated her life to nursing. Her family are originally from Ireland but she now lives in the West Midlands.
Following the loss of her husband in 2023, the presence of vEDS in the family was discovered with Marie’s son being diagnosed.
Marie is looking forward to giving back to Annabelle’s Challenge who have supported her since the diagnosis.
Kerri is a regional coordinator for Annabelle’s Challenge covering the North Staffordshire area of the West Midlands.
Kerri was diagnosed with Vascular Ehlers Danlos Syndrome in 2016 at 44yrs of age.
Since then, she’s been medically retired from her role within the local authority at Stoke on Trent city council as the Strategic Work force Development Manager, managing the training, skills and behaviours of over a 8,000 diverse workforce.
Kerri is looking forward to coordinating and providing a warm welcome to anyone touched with vascular Ehlers Danlos syndrome who would like to connect and build networks by attending her groups.
Our regional face-to-face support groups are safe, confidential, relaxed meetings with lunch included!
Facilitated by our wonderful volunteer regional coordinators, all of whom have lived experience with vascular EDS either personally or in a caring role.
They offer a welcoming environment for you to meet others who are touched by vascular EDS. They provide a helpful way to share information, listen to each other’s experiences and together find ways of navigating the complexities of living with or caring for someone with vascular EDS.
Our support groups can help you build self-confidence, become more informed and this may lead to you becoming more in control of your life with vascular EDS. They help you feel you are not so alone including your loved ones.
